The Tulalip Tribes Elder Protection & Vulnerable Adult Team (TTEPVT) (or Tulalip Elders Abuse Program) is committed to conducting prompt, thorough, and effective investigations and assisting victims of elder abuse under the Tribes’ Elders Protection & Vulnerable Adult Ordinance.
Elder abuse can include physical or verbal harm, neglect and exploitation. The National Indian Council on Aging reports that “It can take the form of hitting, shoving, sexual abuse, threats, and inappropriate use of drugs, restraints or confinement. TTEPVT’s commitment to abused elders recognizes the importance of minimizing trauma for elderly victims and their families, holding offenders fully responsible for their conduct and providing appropriate intervention and prevention services to elders.
The case manager for TTEPVT is currently located at the senior center and has an office at the senior apartments to assist in all aspects of elder and vulnerable adult exploitation, abuse and neglect.
